Step aside, Chris Coste, looks like we have another 33-year old rookie on the lookout. Well, close to a rookie, anyhow, considering he does have 166 Major League at bats. Regardless, Alex Rodriguez (you may have heard of him) has left a monumental void at third base for the New York Yankees. Although all signs point to the Yankees eventually pulling out the wallet and signing a utility player with more MLB service, Cody Ransom will have a chance to prove himself. In the past week or so, the media has had many interesting articles about Ransom, a long time minor leaguer (4,111 at bats) and occasional MLB journeyman.

Josh Alper of NBC writes that Cody Ransom is a survivor. Even though he is a survivor, Alper does not believe that the Yankees should go with Ransom at third.

The New York Daily News reports that Ransom believes that he is ready to fill the A-Rod void.

The New York Post has taken Cashman at his word, that he will not “Ransom the Future for a Quick Fix.”

Last but certainly not least, be sure to check out Marc Craig’s article in The Star Ledger, which reports that Johnny Damon firmly believes Ransom is the best athlete on the Yankees.
