Sporting Links

I come across plenty of interesting resources that are either e-mailed or mentioned to me by friends and readers. This post shall serve as a compendium of nifty links for the everyday sports fan, and will be accessible on the blogroll for easy access at any time. Enjoy.

For those of you who are bloggers, or others who just want to include links to player stats in an email, check out this incredible resource from Baseball Reference; all you have to do is copy and paste the text and it takes care of the rest.

As we all know, sports betting is a pretty big thing here in these United States. So before you go dropping a hundy on that 3-game-MLB-parlay, it makes sense to know as many details as possible. Or maybe you have a fantasy squad going and you want to make sure you’re going to get the best run production. That’s why the MLB Weather Dashboard was created. It’s meant to help you “forecast the results” of that day’s games, so do your homework. We can only hope the creators follow it up with a similar dashboard for football, so that we can make an even more informed when it comes to that juicy college football spread or Donovan McNabb’s career stats in the rain.

Are you a social media maniac who wishes there was a Facebook just for sports? Well, apparently you aren’t the only one, because these types of services are starting to pop up all over – just check out TruFan and and SportsFanLive.

These are just a few links to get things started, but, as I said, more will be coming and I intend to keep it fresh, so check the Blogroll every so often to find tools and sites that might interest you.
