Talking World Series with the Anonymous Mets Fan

rip-mets

Yankees and Phillies fans are obviously on top of the world with their teams both vying for the ‘09 Championship. Aside from that, fans of all other teams are probably interested in seeing these two juggernauts go head to head – well, aside from one team’s fan base.

Sunday Funday Part 2: Keys to an Eagle Win

We will find out if this McCoy is real very soon.

Before I get started here, a disclaimer: I’m not Brandon and thus these three keys will be about half the length. As everybody knows, Brandon has a tendency to be longwinded (this also rings true in person). Here are my succinct three keys – or, more accurately, three players that will determine the outcome of this game.

Sunday Funday Part 1: Keys to a Giant Victory

If the giants get the big boy Jacobs going, it

This week Sean and I have decided to devote extra attention to the divisional matchup between the Giants and Eagles as they duke it out for first place in the rugged NFC East. The decision was made based on the fact that normally in the week leading up to a game between these two rivals, we carry on through extensive e-mail chains and taunting text messages about why each team is better than the other. And honestly, it gets to be quite ridiculous. So instead of subjecting you to reading these, lengthy, yet wildly entertaining exchanges, we decided to keep it civil and simply discuss three keys to victory for each team as they hope to gain control of the division.

4th and 1: Favre, Former Family Face-Off

If Rodgers can stay upright, he should be able to shred the undermanned Vikings secondary (AP Photo/Mark Duncan).

The most obvious and intriguing storyline this week revolves around Brett Favre returning to his former stomping grounds of Lambeau Field to face off against the team he made his legend with. But I’m not here to harp on the Favre angle, since you’ll get enough of that elsewhere. Contrary to what many media outlets would have you believe, there are other games on this weekend’s slate As well, and many of them figure to be close games. This could be one of the only weeks all year where there are only a limited amount of games pitting a good team against a god-awful one

LJ talks a better game than he plays

"Do you think they know that I am just stealing money?"

Let’s face it: Larry Johnson is not a good football player. Once upon a time he was one of the best running backs in the NFL, but those days seem very, very far away. He has also made it obvious that he wants out of Kansas City, and really, who can blame him. Tony Gonzalez wanted out and he was granted his wish, yet the Chiefs seem to keep him there to torture him. The big difference between them though, is that Gonzalez is actually good.

FedEx Follies

If not for Jackson, the Eagles offense would be right there with the Redskins.

This was one hideous game. Seriously, this game was uglier than a Heidi Montag-Spencer Pratt sex tape (sorry, but I refuse to call them by their not so clever moniker). The Redskins committed more mistakes than Steve Phillips en route to getting run out of their own building. If the Redskins don’t fix things fast, there might be a recreation of the Simpsons episode where Bart steals Jebediah Springfield’s head, with Jim Zorn playing the role of the rebellious Simpson.

All New: 8 in the Box Debuts

Michael Crabtree showed yesterday why he considered by many to be the best in last year

Apparently Obama’s motto has rubbed off on me as I’ve decided to change everything about everything that I do here on this site. As my loyal readers already are aware of, I jacked Sean’s column idea for the preview article, and I have now also decided to change to title of the wrap-up column as well.
