Here’s a tip to those of you who love to sit back and watch the Red Zone all day when your team happens to be off that day: don’t invite a whole bunch of rabid Eagles fans over to your house to enjoy watching every game that happens to be on that day. Since the Eagles were playing I understand that they would want that game to be on exclusively. But bitching when you switch to the Red Zone during a commercial so you could check up on all of the other games that are being aired live?

Since college recruiting has gotten increasingly more intense, with coaches going as far as trying to establish relationships with middle schoolers in order to gain an edge on their competition with early committments, someone should take a look at this kid now. Seriously, watch how this 6-year old dominates the game and levels his opponents when they least expect it. He is a mixture of Ray Lewis, Terry Tate and the Waterboy. Oh, and listen closely after he rocks the quarterback; the kid cries like Rex Ryan after a loss. This is highlight reel footage of the next great linebacker, or so the college coahces hope.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving, or at least one that was better than mine. It was all fine and dandy early with family, good food and mediocre football, but football nonetheless, which is always better e younger guys lining up across from him. than no football at all. But, much to my chagrin, the mediocrity continued into the evening as well, with nary a game yesterday being competitive. We’ve become used to this after being forced to watch the Lions year after year, but if the NFL could figure out a way to schedule some good games on Thanksgiving that would definitely be a plus.

It’s been a while, but now we can start to remember that really good Titans team from last year that went 13-3 and was the #1 seed in the AFC before dropping 7 straight games. That losing all seems like a distant memory now as the Titans have been rejuvenated with maligned quarterback Vince Young reinserted into the starting lineup. It has become obvious to everyone now that coach Jeff Fisher made a mistake by waiting six horrendous losses before deciding (okay, he was forced by bird-flipping owner Bud Adams) to reinstall Young as his quarterback. Ever since the former first-rounder has taken over, the Titans look like their old selves, running the ball extremely effectively and making timely plays in the passing game.

Congratulations to King Albert for his second consecutive MVP. Pujols won unanimously, leaving no doubt in voters’ minds that he was the best player in the National League. His AL counterpoint, Joe Mauer, nearly matched the feat yesterday, but I already had my say about that outcome.

You’ve read that right, after a season of lopsidedness in regards to the haves and have-nots, parity returned to the NFL…at least for one day. Yesterday was filled with big games, big plays, and big-time performances. It was a Sunday of shocking upsets, superb performances and a stinker turned super. But with the top of league consistently showing that the talent gap is wider than many would like to admit between them and the bottom-feeders, it was a weekend that brought the NFL’s most valued commodity back to the masses: parity. The NFL prides itself on its supposed parity, something that they like to boast separates it from the other members of the big four sports.

It’s time to amend a small detail about the MLB MVP voting process, and I hope readers will agree.
