About
The Birth of 27pitches
27pitches was created in February 2009 with modest ambitions. One day I simply decided that I wanted to have a place on the Internet that was my own, where friends and family members could visit, read my musings, and share in the conversation if they felt so inclined. Thanks to the support of friends and family, this blog has been far more successful than I could have ever anticipated, and I am very thankful for all the readers who visit and contact me regularly. I hope to continue to keep the content interesting and relevant, perhaps even getting a few laughs in the process.
Mission
I’m a sports fanatic and I’d like to think I know what other sports fanatics are looking for. I’m not trying to break news or draft AP style recaps; instead, I’d like to call attention to stories that I think fly under the radar, or simply point out websites and interesting facts that slip through the cracks. In addition, I intend to provide commentary as well, and I hope that eventually the comments sections really generate some reader-to-reader conversations.
Contributors
First and foremost, there’s me. In addition to bringing you quality, worthwhile postings about what I think are the best fantasy baseball team names or whether or not the MLB will ever see another 20-game winner, I’ll be continuing to keep the aesthetics of the site fresh and visually appealing. If there’s anything I can do to make your experience on my website better, shoot me an email. If you want to take the conversation offline, you can always follow me on Twitter @27pitches.
In addition to my musings and ramblings, you’ll find regular postings by Brandon Kopceuch. His specialty is all-things NFL, and you’ll find some good insights and well written posts from him here. He will also throw in a college football post from time to time and looks forward to covering college basketball when it returns. If you have any feedback for him, be sure to leave it in the comments section, and he can also be reached at brandon[at]27pitches[dot]com or on Twitter @BrainofBrando.
Our third contributor is Dave Jacober. He’s a fan of all sports but his columns focus on Major League baseball (something he likes to call “the American League”), the NBA, and the NFL. A New Englander living in New York, he also has an excellent insight into all things pop culture. You can contact Dave at jacober[at]27pitches[dot]com or follow him on twitter @ironbagel24.
I’m also very open to guest contributors, so anyone who is looking for a forum can contact me about drafting up a posting.
Finally, if you want to catch some of our other content around the Web, be sure to check out our latest endeavor, which is writing for the NFL.com. Brandon and I both write for the Blog Blitz – check his coverage of the Colts here and my coverage of the Eagles here.
Thanks for reading. Enjoy the site and please pass it along.
