
Let’s just say the cycling community is lucky that Floyd Landis never had to go before Senator McCarthy and the House Committee on Un-American Activity in the 1950’s. If he did, I can all but guarantee every single US cyclist would have walked out being labeled a communist.

The Sports Idiot and I have been going back and forth the past week on the topic of steroid speculation in baseball. I say baseball because it only really seems to be a problem (so far as we know) in baseball and football, and in football it seems to be much more acceptable, but that’s another post in itself.

I was watching the Phillies vs. Braves games last night and there was a bit of a delay in the top of theh 6th inning, when a fan ran onto the field, shook Pedro Feliz’s hand, and eluded a team of slow-footed field security guys.

ESPN and Seton Hall teamed up to poll over 800 sports fans on a couple of steroids-related questions. About 25% of respondents believe that at least half of all MLB players are currently using human growth hormone.
