10 World Series Observations

I have a newfound respect for this guy.

Congratulations to the New York Yankees again for winning another World Series Championship. They proved to be the better team in a matchup of juggernaut offenses.

Angels and (Yankee) Demons

DemonCurt

By now, you’ve heard that the Angels successfully mounted a comeback in last night’s sloppy game versus the Yankees. Although there’s no need to panic yet, you can bet your ass the Yankees are starting to have flashbacks of the 2004 ALCS.

Step aside, Chris Coste, looks like we have another 33-year old rookie on the lookout. Well, close to a rookie, anyhow, considering he does have 166 Major League at bats. Unless you just awoke from a five moth coma, you already know that the Yankees spent roughly a quarter billion dollars this offseason, collecting free agent prizes like Digger Phelps collects matching tie and highlighter sets. Along with Mark Teixeira, they bargained for two pitchers who are so good they don’t even need first names, just initials. But even with these All Star acquisitions, the Yankees may not even be the best team in their state, let alone their division.

Bud Is No Friend to Baseball

Selig

You would think that starting up an MLB-focused blog a day after the annual “New York Yankee spring training confessional” press conference implies a focus on this year’s circus leader, Alex Rodriguez. However, there’s plenty a of media coverage concerning his use of banned substances from 2001-2003; instead, I’d like to draw some attention to another story that was conveniently planned to slip under the radar as A-Rod demanded the attention of baseball fans everywhere. It’s a story that is as infuriating as it is expected.
